I loved my 76 cj5 w/304 v8 3 speed. It would go anywhere 4wheelin, but you couldn't pay me to jump out of my f150 driving the kind of miles I do. Not to mention our race trailer would throw that thing off the road. The one thing you'll never get in that jeep is the quietness of the f150, especially at highway speed. Like others said I'd love to have a little cj5 to bomb around in but not at the expense of losing my f150.

I hear what most of you are sayin.....

I know the 2 vehicles are drastically different... F-150 being more refined, quiet more room, arguably more power... I believe the Jeep gets a little better gas mileage, not sure.....

But, If I asked myself and others at this site if they REALLY do need a truck, a F-150, I suspect truthfully most of you would say no. I know I dont. I hardly ever haul or tow anything. I do have a 5x8 motorcycle trailer but the Jeep would tow that without a problem (3,500 lb capability)......

The Jeep for me would be a more fun vehicle and I hope to have less problems although from what many of you are saying about jeeps that may not happen (I take Chris Adams post seriously as he is "Da Man" as far as I am concerned).

I'll wait for the thing to come out this fall and I'll do my homework on the Jeep forums etc. etc. I'll test drive it and we'll see......

Right now I am in a kinda Love Hate phase with my F-150... there are just too many warranty things going on that annoy the heck outta me....

Thanks for the mostly honest posts though.....
