Thanks for all the comments! I dont think it was part of the main frame but it is definitly bolted to a heavy duty piece of metal right under the truck. 8 bolts to bolt in on on each side.

Looks awesome bro Before I purchased my truck, I insisted they add that style steps to the deal..They tryed pushing some other type on me but I said no, I wanted that type. They said if I would choose a different style that they would be free, and if I wanted this type I would have to pay half of there price which cost me $300 installed. According to them they list for over $900 and thats for a reg cab

They bolt to the body, not the frame, but like others have said were they mount is pretty solid.

yea that is prety crazy. I first went to the dealer to see if I could get the bolts and nuts and they quoted me like $200. I then went to the hardware store and got them for like $15

Take a look under your cab, you will see three sets of pre-drilled holes on each side. They mount to these holes.

P.S. if anyone is looking for these same step bars I have some for sale.

Yes I took them off my truck when it was new a few months ago, and replaced them with the 3" round ones. I think they are still on the classfieds section. ad# 24260

Looks good.

I wish my truck came with the polished ones instead of my black ones.

I need to post my chrome steps I still have off an 05 screw in classifieds too. I just prefer the boards over the steps ( only have a 2" lift and IMO, they make truck look higher ). Made dealer swap off the chrome ones for the black plastic boards on another truck for my 06, before I took it off the lot.. Also, dealer should be able to get you the bolts and clips for about $15. NAPA only had the short clips, good for the bottoms, the side ones need the longer ones.
