Rotor grooves

I know there are multiple threads about this issue. I have an 04 SCREW Lariat. I bought it used at 25000 miles. I now have 26000 and I'm noticing some vibration while stopping. I looked at the rotors this morning and there have some pretty deep grooves in them. My question is, Do you think the stealership will replace them under warrenty with 26000 miles on the truck?

Thanks in advance!

I doubt they will replace them because of the grooves, but you might get some action because of the viberation. Check out the TCB's, there was one concering brakes, have your ammo ready when you go to the dealer.

Find a dealer with a good service department and you'll be probally get the new updated brakes. I had the same thing and my dealer replaced all of the calipers, rotors, and of course new pads came with the new calipers.

PS: The new updated brakes pistons are 3mm larger.

Just went through this today. My '04 (build date 12/03) has a periodic vibration during breaking from hiway speeds....just like warped rotors, but very slight. I found the TSB on this site and read it over before heading to the dealer. The brake rotor TSB...that I am aware of....covers trucks with a build date prior to 11/29/03. My dealer said the TSB did not relate to my truck and only dealt with front brakes.

They pulled all the rotors and concluded....and I quote from the service order...."All brakes and wear are within Ford Specifications". I was told to live with it.
