Installed my Volant

Well, I got my Volant intake all installed finally this weekend. I also took the hint from Tuff4rd and lined the inside of the cold air box with Dynamat to help cut down on the noise. I also lined the pan that the box sits on so that there is no rattle. It sounds great and runs great now. I did have to make some modifications to the box because there was a fuse block that was in the way, so that had to be relocated so the air box would fit and so the wire bundle was out of the way. There are pictures in my gallery of the install.
The only complaint that I have about Volant is that the instructions SUCK!!! Some more instructions with pictures would be greatly appreciated. Also, it is obvious that no one at Volant took the time to proof-read the instructions. There were many times where it would say use a 8mm socket, but it obviously was a 10mm.

I'm also curious how your performance increased?? Could you feel the difference or just hear it?

Here are pictures of my Volant installed at Volant 8/05. I had no excessive noise and power was increased with the addition of the ram air scoop.

How do you like the ram air scoop, I'm thinking about ordering one when I order a cleaning kit. Volant claims that it increases fuel economy on the highway did you notice any difference? And how difficult was it to install the ram air tube?

Definite improvement over the stock intake. Of course my new 06 with the stock intake was an improvement over my 04 too. Now, when I step on the gas, the truck just wants to take off right away. After I got the intake installed, I did lay a couple marks in my driveway to test the power.

How much Dynamat is required to do the inside of the box and the pan like you did?

I would be afraid of waterlock with the ram air scoop.

I think it took about 3 sq. ft to do line the airbox. I bought the small roll of Dynamat at Best Buy.
