Engine bay dirt-Can it be kept out?
Engine bay dirt-Can it be kept out?
Just got my 1st Ford ever. Long bed regular cab. Real nice truck. Opened the hood yesterday and noticed how much dirt and crud had been thrown all over the brake booster area, firewall etc. and same on the other side. This was from one rain day. Now I don't care if it gets a little dirty but living here in the "rust belt" of central PA this concerns me a lot. One winters driving here where I live with the salt, anti-skid and anti-freeze chemicals they fog onto the roadways, and my engine area is sure to be a rusty mess! Looks to me like the inner fenders could use some type of extensions on the engine bay side minumizing this road spray from the wheel well. I was thinking of getting some rubber like they used up front to direct air to the radiator, and cut some extensions out but figured maybe someone has a better idea before I go to all that. How about you guys who play in the mud all the time? Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave
