f-150 owners 2004 or newer

i need a list of how many of you had leaks or problems with your f-150. mine had the 3rd brake light leak and a bad windshield seal. i need a long list to show to the dealer who told me this was never an issue. i might also send a letter to ford, bbb ,lemon law.

thank you !

10,000 miles and no leaks I have seen (better not be any!), and I go crazy with the hose when I wash her!

I would use the "search" function on here. I'm sure, you will come up with a lot of info. Good luck with sending a letter to Ford and the BBB..they dont care. I wouldn't waste my time, unless for nothing else but to make myself feel better...

Issue or not with a bunch of trucks...if it leaks, it leaks...tell them to fix it, or go to another dealership.

my issue is that i hardly ever drive my 2004 f-150. i paid good money $32,000.00 plus for this vehicle because i thought it would be worth it. my previous 2001 silverado was falling apart (a/c 4 times, wiper fluid leak, oil leak). i figured i get what i pay for so i went with a expensive f-150.

well i was never warned of leaks or defects. i bought it in nov of 2004 new. it sat through two winters with leaks. i'm sure there is rust and mold. it smells like mold. i hardly drive it now do to disablilty so i haven't had a chance to notice the leak until last week. the seats were water logged, rug soaked and windows and other parts full of codensation. the service dept told me more then likely they will shampoo it. that doesn't solve the rust, mold and other problems due to water. i want another vehicle used or not, not a shampoo!
this isn't my fault.

when you buy a new house you don't expect a leaky roof and rusty pipes. if it does happen you can sue for damages. why not with a truck?

should be resolved but...the dealer and service dept said they have never heard of such an issue. they thought i left the window down. they just gave me the b.s. look as i explained this common problem. thats why i need a list of others with issues.

Every Black Ford truck I ever owned had a leaky windshield within 30K miles and a leaky rear glass within 60K. Never had that problem with green, blue or white Fords. Maybe it's the heat!

Knock on wood

So far so good, I owned two trucks so far and never had problems. The first was a 2002 nissan frontier 4*4 crewcab. I put 87,000 miles on it in two years and never had problems. Now I have a 2005 F150 supercrew, so far 36,000 miles in a little bit over a year and no problems.

typical response from someone with no problems.

i'm not trying to sue, i just want what i paid for. this is my 5th new car with problems within the first year. everytime i get the run-around and i send up trading it in for a loss on my part. after taking it in the shorts 5 times i'm fed up. how can you spend almost $600.00 a month for a leaky truck? it should have been fixed before i bought it or they could have told me about this issue. it looks like a easy fix. now it's too late and the first i heard of it was on this forum. they always find an excuse not to cover damages.

98 honda civic molding fell apart in first week, i paid damges (not covered)

2000 excursion blew a spark plug into hood 1st month $900.00 damaged for life of vehicle (not covered)

2001 silverado a/c went out 4 times they wanted $1100.00 (not covered 4th time) oil leak and wiper fluid leak (not covered)

just to name a few a bought.

I certainly understand your frustration but, overall, it really sounds like you need a new dealership. To me, it sounds like they're tap dancing around anything and everything that you bring to their attention because they don't want to mess with you.

A good dealership, where warranted, will get things taken care of under warranty in my opinion.

Best of luck with your search...
