RPA (Rear Parking Assist) not working
RPA (Rear Parking Assist) not working
Just wondering if anybody has had this same problem and maybe could give me some insight. My rear parking assist has stopped working. The disable button is always illuminated "off" and it doesnt work. The button is not stuck, so I can still push it in and out. The illuminated "off" doesnt illuminate until the first time I back up. When i push the disable button on and off, it doesnt matter, it still always shows illuminated "off". The system definately doesnt work.
I spend some time searching this forum with no results. I am out of warranty 42k, so its time for me to fix this myself. Thanks for any help.

Exact same problem with the wife's Explorer. It has done that for the last 4 years... the dealer could fix it everytime (probably 6 times), but now that th warrenty is over it stays broken.
That's why I never got the option on my F150... waste of $$.

I just wanted to update the thread and say that my problem was one of the sensors on the bumper was bad. A Tech at work hooked up a laptop to my truck and found out exactly which sensor was bad. They popped in a new one and it worked right away. When the button constantly lights up "off" it is just telling you there is a problem with the system.
I am glad it is working again. I really love the back up system. It has saved my butt a bunch of times.

Mine does this too, but I have a few paints of exofrd white paint and a clearcoat over mine, haha.
I need to get around to sanding them down and covering them with vinyl since that won't stop the sensors from working...
