Is this that unit that was up for sale for $600 and posted a couple days ago, also did not have nav? Looks nice, better than I thought it would. I am still disappointed there is a good % of the screen not used on the sides.

It looks nice...I know it's expensive! I'm not a fan of NAV, makes the units too expensive. That's another reason I like the Alpine...gives you an option if you want it or not. Now, the have the Blackbird, too!

Plus, and this is a BIG plus...It's hard to beat any alpine (w/ processor control) and the H701...purely, audio bliss!!!!

Your not gonna get it for $600, but thanks for trying to dump on it! LOL

It does have a clean look...not all those flashy buttons and such. I think your right...I would have liked more screen utilized, but it's about the same as the older Eclipses & Kenwoods. Might of took Alpine a couple of years, but they'll catch and more than likely surpass the competition! Like, I said in the above post...can beat the W200/H701 combo when comes to just pure audio!

I like it!! its clean, simple- i really like the eclipse like RP's but id just get too screwed up with all the buttons on the left and right margins- the alpine has the line at the bottom, and nothing on the sides- no clutter hows the operation brypink- easy to navigate thru?

Hell yeah! Alpine makes the best HU's out there as far as I'm concerned. I like yours a lot!

Thanks guys.

BalogUK - Operation is pretty much like my old D310, so I'm kinda use to it!

BREWDUDE - It's as flush as it's gonna get. The Metra trim plate is kinda angled, so it sticks out about an 1/8" on top.

Looks great Bryan, Did you get it for a better price than retail at least? Looks sweet I will be getting the same unit, I love alipine controls over the audio much more unique than anyother unit I've used. Great mod.

do you have the IPOD full speed setup? Im dying to get this unit, but im going to try to wait untill the prices on EBAY fall. Im hoping that in a few weeks it will be going for 700-800... Or i might crack and buy it sooner!! I think it is a steal even at $1000. Im glad nav is optional on it too. I paid wayy to much for a pioneer AVIC-N1 when it first came out and I rarely used the Nav. The pioneer got stolen... and now I have a stock system. I really miss DVD's and the Sound Quality and the IPOD Full speed is awesome (No more CD's in the truck!!).
