Just purchased a Magnaflow 11236 (14" SI/SO O/O) with the 2.5".

I also ordered a nice Gibson SS Tip for 2.5" pipe. The tip arrived early. Not being one to wait I went out to see how it would look. The tip was too small. I then measured my exit tail pipe dimension and it is more like 2.75"

My truck is an 04 Lariat 4x4 (new body style) build in Oct '03.

I thought from reading other threads the pipe dimensions were 2.5" on the F150's?

Also the tip is not weld on...it has a nice clamp setup....verified id of tip to be 2.5".

What gives with the 2.75" stock exhaust?

BTW, I am trying to go the conservative route and not purchase a whole new catback

That's why you should have measured it in the first place bud. Mine was built in Feb. 04 and the OD on my stock pipe is 2.75". So I ordered the 2.75" inlet Gibson tip.

Hopefully you can exchange it.
