In Loving Memory Stickers/Decals

I'm Mexican too, living in Mexico at the border with Texas, but I won't ever do any of those things like...
The last Names stickers in the rear window and the tailgate landscapes where the truck is showed in some sort of situation(Parked at beach, chaced by Police Car, etc.) or some sort of animal figure screwed at the front of the hood or some Tiger, Horse, Snake, Ruster etc. sticker in the rear windows. etc.
Those styles are used for just a segment of Mexicans or Mexican/Americans.., not all of them.
The window sketch is a good idea BTW.

Any of my loved ones do this for me when I die and I'm going to find a way to haunt them!
Just a way of grieving that I do not understand. I don't like to advertise my sadness.
If it helps you, go for it. I wouldn't make a permanent memorial on a car, though. They have a way of ending up in a junkyard sooner or later.
In that light, I certainly favor the tat over the car memorial.

First of all i thought this was a thread saying in memory of all the stickers, i just pulled off my truck. lol
Second, i would go tat over stickers
Third, yea the painted landscape on a '95 chevy "lowered" by putting 14x8" rims on it and small tires, and every plastic panel add on possible, (ext cab window bars, roof line extender) and then it says Sanches or Gonzalez real big in old english across the back window, as if that isnt a common name or anything...

I know exactly what you're talking about, those "shutter-looking" plastic window slats for the backseat passengerside windows are also very common, can't forget those.Brew, thats a great idea and thanks. I don't think I'd be a good etcher though so let me know when you make it out this way ;P
Fritz, it's not a form of grieving, it's more of a tribute/memorial sort of thing. It's just like the 9/11 (we will never forget) sort of thing. It's almost like he never existed right now and some sort of mural would change that, I think we would all hate to be forgotten (don't tell me you hope your son/daughter/wife/mother/etc would just forget about you when you're gone...just to go against the grain, that gets old). There is a lyric I particularly think of in regards to this from an old Randy Travis song, "It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go." Anyways, I'd be devastated if this person felt forgotten and it's about time I let him know he's not. :o

J' its not hard at all. all you have to do is have the pattern or design cut out of a "sticker" stick it to the window and brush the etching paste on top of it. Wait a few minutes and then wipe it off and clean it up. THe paste does all the work and as long as your pattern is what you like, it will come out really good. You can get the etching kit for $15 and then just go buy a piece of glass or get one from a junk yard to practice on. Come on man, if you can put that lift on, I'm sure you can do this..
I can't believe how chitty everyone is being here about this. If you dont like the idea, then shut up. Josiah is trying to Not forget a loved one and you're all, basically telling him hes an idiot. I'm jut glad that he's smart enough not to listen to this crap and will do what he wants to pay tribute. Sometimes I just dont understand you guys.

I am on the edge about etching into my window myself as it's permanent. How visible do you think it will be?

How visible do you think it will be?Check with your local vinyl/decal/sign shop, They make decals out of a vinyl, I think the material is called frost, That looks just like etched glass.... Its used often for restaurant windows, businesses ect. This would be the way to go!

So if you were to do it this way, I would deff get something to practice on first and time it to see what looks the best.
TCC had a good idea with the "frost"type decals that look like etching. If your worried about the permanent etching, you may want to look into this option.

Check yourself, dude.
No one on this thread has called anyone an idiot, and no one is being chitty about it.
Some people may not understand the whole "Tribute" concept and are trying to learn something.
You know, becoming informed about something and not just jumping in and spouting crap without thinking..... first.
