Painted Bugshields.

Anyone Have one painted on there 04 and up.I am Wondering how the paint on the inside lip will hold up, because the install basically requires you to pinch the shield between the grille and the hood.

Bug Shield

I have one from Driver Design. I got it pre-painted and just had to install it. Its been on almost a year and I have not had any issues with the paint chipping or scrapeing off. Looks lik ethe day I installed it.

I had one painted to match the colour of my last truck (95 red). The body shop painted the clear shield on the inside only and it was spectacular. Never had any problems and it looked like OEM. Just a suggestion.

PC Poppy, I have had them painted before too,and they do stand up pretty well.It is the way they get pinched between the hood and the grille on the 04 and up, that makes me think the inside that rests against the hood, will with abrasion come off.

Do you think that it would be noticable if some comes off there?

I got the Lund Interceptor painted on the inside. Had it over a year and haven't seen a problem with it yet.
