Mark LT Tailgate Handle Installed

Took me about 30 mins to do taking my time, then I did a real quick wash. Matches perfectly, and of course a couple of pics...

Looks good man. Are you gonna do the doors as well? I cant wait to get a nice day this week to install mine.

Rain until tomorrow, then it should be nice from there. Any tips on the install?

Yeah, I have the passenger side, waiting on the drivers side, they sent the wrong color the first time. Tailgate handle is simple, just take the panel off of the tailgate that covers the rear part of the handle, then undo two bolts, pull out old handle, swap over lock, and reverse to install. Could probably be done in 15 minutes, but I wanted to take my time, make sure I could put it back together. Overall a pretty easy mod.

Buy the paint to match handles and have them color matched.

I hear that! You'd think that Lincoln would choose such a regal color as Aspen Green Metallic! The shops around me here in Knoxville are outrageous on painting those. I asked, and for three handles (driver, passenger, tailgate) they want $150!!

ehhh don't say that. I still need to get mine painted. I'll be damned if I pay more to have the handles painted than what I actually payed for them

Yes doing the tailgate makes you feel pretty good about what you did and how it looks. Then the passenger. More time consuming but not to bad. I saved the drivers side for last because of all the stories. I had to take a couple time outs because I was getting PO'd with the door internals. My arms got a bit scuffed up reaching and twisting inside the door. But when you are all done and if you didnt jack up your paint and everything works ok then it makes it all worth it. Enjoy.
