RATTLE under mirror

Hello everyone first post, great site

I think i found the annoying rattle i hear when going over 35 mph. under the P/S mirror theres this plastic cap. its very loose and seems to be echoing into the cab. I tried to pop it off (well not to hard, didnt want to scratch anything), my question is does it just pop off or do i have to do the complete mirror removal, door panal ect..?

Sorry, the sideview mirrors, underneath there is a cap about inch and a half by about 3". on the p/s its really loose but on the d/s its pretty tight

if you are referring to the square thing under the mirror, it does come out if you apply little pressure; use small flat head screwdriver to pop it out.
