Well after many weeks of trying to find an annoying rattle in my 2005 Lariat Supercrew (and not much help from the dealer) I finally found the bugger. When you remove the woodgrain trim around the stereo, heater, etc, you can gain access to the center part of the dash. There is a piece of the plastic heater/air duct that was rattleing whenever you hit any kind of bump. I crammed a old wash cloth behind this piece and it could no longer move & hit other stuff under the dash. Result: NO MORE RATTLE! I feel like I'm driving a new truck again.

 

Glad to hear you got it fixed, rattles can be extremely annoying.
For anyone interested I have a box of Factory Ford wash cloth's
p/n: 6ZAC-5410-5854-6978 and will sell them for only $ 35.00 each... ....
