well, if you plan on keeping it long, you could always buy an Extended warranty. Not to late yet

Actually, it would have been to late to get a Ford Extended Service Plan. By 1 mile. If you haven't bought it by 36K you are SOL. How do I know, well lets just say I learned of this at 36,439 miles. AARRRGGGGHH.

Right now I'm putting 700 miles per year on my '05 -- at this rate I suspect I'll "time out" on my warranty before I'll "mileage out" on it!

That's okay, my warranty is pretty much up at 17,400 miles due to the whipple. I was surprised when the dealership did a tranny leak fix earlier this week for me. The service advisor said he had to persuade them to fix it under warranty. He said it was obviously not due to the blower, and made them go ahead with the repair. Now we can both cringe when we hear a knock or thunk!

I thought you were worried about how cold it was.

Dang...I've had my truck since July of last year and I've already hit 12,000 miles.

Still debating on getting the extended warranty from ford or not.

Your brake system is going to start leaking from lack of use.
