Question for reg. cab owners

I own a '05 regular cab that originally came with the center seat. My truck uses a 3-point seatbelt harness for the center seat with the shoulder strap mounting to the back panel. I noticed on chris adams' truck, that he doesn't have the shoulder restraint point on the back panel.

What trucks got this 3rd point?

I'm building a sub box and the bulge on the rear panel is making this more complicated.

My '05 is just like yours. The third point is on the back wall of the cab.

I have an 04 XLT regular cab and the center seat belt is only a lap belt.

05 and it's got the 3 point. If you don't need the center strap maybe look for an 04 panel as it sounds like they only had lap belts. I haven't pulled that panel completely off yet so there may be something back behind that hump that isn't removable. I dunno.

Not to hijack...been tinkering with the idea of an XLT console, wonder if that middle strap removable.

In the center of the back my truck came with a mount for the child seat. The center seat belts are just lap belts. I pulled the child seat mount out because it looks lousy and serves no purpose in my truck. One bolt holds it and it stuck up into the rear window. Much cleaner without it.

I put in the flowthrough center console in my reg cab, so I had to disconnect the seat belt there. I had the three point belt that I had to unhook like from the center section, and then it just retracts back to the rear of the truck cab to that humped area. I've been meaning to completely remove it, but now the buckle is just taped up to keep it from banging around. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to remove it completely once you removed the panel on the rear wall of the truck and just cut out the part of it you needed removed.

My '05 has the center shoulder belt on the back wall as well. Maybe that was a change for '05.....

It WAS a change for 05+. I noticed this a while back and then went to the dealer to confirm.

I have an 04 and it has a lap belt.

The strap on the back wall makes for a great place to hang your baseball caps. I regularly hang 4 on there no problem. Beats searching around on the back floor.

If I remember correctly the shoulderbelt assembly just bolts onto the back wall/cab floor. Should be easy to take it out and get an 04 rear panel. I just built my box around it.

Can you post photos of your box?

Sorry dont have pics yet but i can explain. It holds 2 downfiring 10's. Basically just a 12.5"wX16"hX12"b/8"td (out side measurements)chamber behind each seat, a bottom and back panel with a notch cut out and boxed around the seat belt column. Box is actually 18 inches high but the bottom of the chambers panels are cut away so only the corners are left for "feet". I dont have the system in yet, but the box fits perfect, . Amp mounts on the back panel and you still have a 30" wide area behind your seat to throw stuff. I've been trying to find some rough textured vinyl to cover it with that matches the floor but am having no luck whatsoever. I'll get pics up as soon as its all in.
