Rear Seat Removed amp placement?

I have a 05 STX supercab. I just removed the back seat rest ( thanks to the info on here) and to my surprise there is a black carpet/sound deading material back there taking up all the space. Now here is my problem. I have a huge amp MTX 1501D and I am wondering what you all did with the material that Ford put back there? Cut it out were the amp goes or just completely remove? Also how did you anchor the amp just screw it into the metal? Also I have a ton of components I am thinking about putting back there I.E. Kenwood Juke Box, Wilson cell phone amp, Mtx Door speakers amp. I would also like to put a set of fans blowing on my amp to keep it cool. Is this possible? I know this is lot of information to sort through I just don’t want to do mod that I can't reverse.
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks everyone
Nick

I cut the material in half leaving the top half intact. This allowed space for my amps/xovers and still gives a nice factory look on top when the seat back is on.

For mounting the amps. I used 1/4" MDF to mount my amps on the wall. I tried to place them where the screws would go into the double metal areas.

I would not worry about the amp fans. Your amps should run cool enough back there. If you have a problem then you can add the fans.

theres a TON of room in the dash. when you take the radio out you'll see. I know its not enuff for a 1501d but you should be able to stick the other stuff there. and maybe stick the amp for the highs under the front seat

I cut strips about 2" in width and long enough for the amp's foot print to fit on. Then mounted them on the wall (where I wanted to mount the amp) and then mounted the amp on them.

Only pics I have are in my gallery.

This will work too. I have my D310 brain and H701 processor both in there. When I get a little Zapco 150 amp for my center channel, I'm gonna put that in there too.

So you drilled into the metal back wall and then bolted the amps onto the wood? Why not just bolt the amps to the wood? I am about to be mounting an amp back there.

Also, can you elaborate on your Big 3 upgrade?

The MDF basically evens out the mounting suface.

This should answer all your questions about the Big 3 upgrade:

Plus, you can do a search in the audio forum which there are a couple threads also.

Thanks guys for the help I also had the idea of the Mdf bored, just wasn't sure of what to do with the carpet stuff back there. Far as mounting the stuff in the dash, I had that done two days after buying the truck. I mounted my Kenwood Sirius tuner and, mtx rear speaker amp (very small 50x2rms) in there. One last question, how to remove the carpet back there? Just pop those plastic pins out?
Thanks
Nick

Yep, and slip it over the child seat straps on top.
