Those of you who've installed your own catback, how did you dispose of the stock system? I know I can’t just throw it into a hefty bag.

Find a big dumpster at night!.... or go to your local exhaust shop they might take it.... I still have mine

BUT, I'd like to do the right thing (first time for everything)...

 

Cut it in short lengths & put it in the garbage

 

If you have a recycling place by your house they will take it, but I would check out the local exhaust shop, what the worst they can say...no? good luck

 

I'd do the dumpster thing its so much fun, or you could go to a metal place that gives you money for cans. Thats what i'm doing witht he stock exhaust I put on my GF's GT.

 

Why not keep it and try to get a few bucks for it? Just yesterday there was a thread of someone who wanted a stock exhaust b/c they didn't like the magnaflow they had. I suppose if you don't have the space then just junk it at they local recycling ctr. but Id keep it and try to get a few bucks for it. I sold the stock exhaust off my 2002 GT to a V-6 mustang owner who wanted a dual exhaust.
