AVS Ventvisor ?

I am looking to buy a set of in-channel ventvisors (#194443) for my supercrew and found a set on e-bay..The seller said they are missing the clips and they can be installed with the adhesive only. Can they?
Here is the ebay link:

NO NO NO... You need the clips. That is what holds them in place. It is very hard to get those to stick to the fabric if the clips are not there. I have been there. Don't do it. Also be prepared to hear some air noise. I am getting rid of my in channels and going back to the outside ventvisor.

I have the in-channel LUND window guards... only cost me about 50$ and they dont make any extra wind noise. They have been great but you DO need those clips... the double sided tape they give you is worthless. It doesnt stick to the felt.

Outside type

I heard that the in-channel visors tend to break. Had an accessories installer tell me that. I personally went with the outside type. I have the in-channel type on a Mazda van and I do hear air noise from time to time.

I have a set of the AVS Ventvisors on my '05 F-150 STX Reg. Cab and only used the clips in the front and they are working great. They don't move at all and there is no extra air noise to be heard.

I had the ones that went on the outside and they eventually started falling off by the wind, plus it looks like crap. I went and got the in-channel ones and threw the clips away. No problems at all and they work fine, no noise or anything. Just my 2 cents.

I had the in-channel ones until one broke in half at the drive-thru. It was about 5 degrees outside, and when I rolled up the window...crack! I bought the adhesive ones and different tape. No problems so far.

Vewnt Visor

I have the in-channel and they are fine. At first the front windows did not roll all the way up (1/4" short) but no noise or laeks. I called the supplier to see if that was common and if they had any suggestions. They had nothing to offer except to happily send me another set of four. So now I have replacements if needed. The windows did eventually seat all the way up into the channel but it took a few months. I have learned that if something does not work right, call the mfgr. - you will be suprised to see how easily they will send you another to keep you happy.

If you can buy them for cheap, get them! Reason being AVS has very good customer service and will in all likelihood send you the clips for free.

I just had to replace my window and the clips to my AVS in-channel visors fell out and I lost them. One simple e-mail and they shipped me a replacement set immediately -- for free!

I've had the in channels in my last 3 vehicles and never had any problems. I think the outside ones look like crap stuck on there. The inchannels look so much more OEM.

AVS falling out

I have a 2006 Super Crew and my rear inchannel visor is falling out. I contacted the installer and he said that he will no longer waranty these inchannel visors but he would replace them with the stick-on visors. I do not like the look of the stick-on visors. Has anyone else had this problem? Also has anyone repaired this problem and how?

Way to bring back a 5 year old thread! Awesome 1st post!

You paid somebody to install vent visors??? Yikes.

Anyways, sounds like you need new clips or are new rear vent visor. Or you could just try super-gluing it in place.

Where would I get the clips or would it be better to just buy new ones? And what is a good reliable site to get them? Oh and I could not pass up free a installation offer.
