What to do for more power??
What to do for more power??
I am looking to get some more power out of my 04 F150. I already have the Edge Evo running on 91 oct/high performance setting and had a custom cat back exhaust systme put on. I was thinking maybe headers and highflow cats would be the next mod. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Paul

I have heard that intake systems don't really do much on the new style F150, just what I have heard on other sites. Where could I get under drive pulleys at? Whats with the fans? I have never heard of fans helping power, fill me in... Any thoughts on the headers and cats??

Gears are the only 'magic bullet'. Intake helps, a little, exhaust can help, tuners will all give you close to the same increase. Sure a custom tune will be better, but putting 4.30 gears under it would make a stock truck kick a tuned, intaked trucks tail.
I've used three tuners, two intakes, two exhausts (not needed, just my hobby) and gears just plain old make more difference.
You will lose gas milage, but gain power.

I'm new to the F150 world, but I have a heavily modified 2001 Mustang GT that I have been working on for years. The two best Modifications I have found so far are a supercharger and gears, in that order. I never really felt too much difference when adding things such as intakes, pullies, exhaust and so on. I know they have a cumulative effect but if you want to feel a difference when you step on the pedal you need a blower or gears.

Intakes compliment every mod you have, so that is the logical next step. If you think you are going to supercharge then skip that since they come with or require a different intake setup.
