What Tonneau should I get

Well being in Alaska sucks when it comes to truck add-ons. well I have to pick from. the A.R.E. LSII, the Raider LoRider Elite, and ******** X-2000 Series. The prices are right under 1100.00, I was wondering what would be a better top, any input would help

Head over to Muffler City by the 5th avenue mall and check out the snug lids. I went with the Snuglid SL and it is a sweet cover. I bought one from them for my ranger splash years ago and they treated me well.

Any locking cover in Alaska is going to give you problems during winter, probably more so in Anchorage than in Fairbanks due to the temps that fluctuate around freezing so much. It's a lot wetter down there too. This winter I had constant problems unlocking the tonneau to open it. If you don't have a garage, it could be a real pain in the ***.

I got a Snuglid SL.

I love it but a friend of mine got the same Snuglid as well. It's a single lock and when you put the key in it only turns very slightly and opens. Mine is the same way. So we tried each others keys and they both opened each others. Different keys too.

I ordered the remote and it has a new lock assembly included. The key is able to go 1/4 turn not installed yet. After looking at the instructions there are rod adjustments that can be done to give the key more 'throw'. I would think the installer would be aware of this. I haven't tried a screw driver but it would probably work because it is setup too tight.

So just a FYI for those with Snuglid SL.

You are probably looking at the same ballpark with cost on the snug lid SL. They have a regular snuglid that retails around $850 painted though. That one comes with 2 locks, one on each side.

Advance K-Cover is what I'm going to get. It's half the price and far more features for your money. I did extensive research and if you're willing to go $1,100 then $600 for the K-cover is your best move. Very high quality cover that folds, locks, no bed rails, and easy/quick to take off.

Second the snug lid sl. The lock cylinders that snug top uses all have a number on the top of the lock that number matches the number on the key it self. They have a limited number of lock cylinders so the chances of finding two that will unlock each other is pretty good if you live near a Snug Top dealer. As for me the closest dealer is over 300 miles away, so it works out good. Not many in my area. Asa matter of fact Ive never seen one here.

I rally like the look of the snuglid but what do you guys do when you need to use the bed? You cant haul nothing tall without taking that thing off? My truxedo all I do is roll it up. There is no way you could haul a dirtbike, lawnmower ect in the back.

I order an Undercover from Truck Candy yesterday for $649 shipped. Probably won’t get it for 10 days or so because it’s shipping freight. I went Undercover because of all the positive reviews I’ve read about them on this forum. Can’t wait to get it! I’m going to get rid of toolbox; sell it locally because shipping something that size wouldn’t be practical

The Snug Lid comes off very easy two screw type twist ***** and two safety catches from the gas shocks and its off. The only down side to it is that it is pretty heavy. Absolutely needs more than one person. But it depends on your own application. For me My truck is more of a street truck. If you have a 4x4 and do alot of outdoor stuff maybey its not the lid for you. But its hard to beat this lid on a lowered street truck.
