Stuck on flat ground....

So, it's true that no good deed goes unpunished.
Last weekend we were in Solvang for a bike ride and afterwards I tried to pull an old guy in a Lexus SUV out of a muddy field.
I hooked up started pulling and immediately dug myself in.
After asking him if he was in nuetral like I explained, he said, "oops I was in park - sorry"

So, now we're both stuck. Luckily a City guy came by in a backhoe and pulled me out.

Just goes to show that people who drive Lexus SUVs should stay on the pavement... Or maybe even home...?

"I was in park..." Good grief!

It is kinda funny, though... You must have been baffled when you started sinking in... I would have been like, "WTF???"

Glad you got out!

Nice pic and thanks for sharing!

What an A-hole. oops. I would have given him oops. Who got him out in the end? I hope you left him there to call Lexus customer service to get a tow truck on his own.

I would have just backed up to his bumper and slammed the gas with 30 feet of slack in the rope, park or neutral he would have came out.
I'm curious, how coould you not notice you weren't moving when you were trying to pull on him? why did you let yourself get stuck? you should try to ****** at least a little if a dead pull isn't working.

dumb lexota (since its just a overpriced yota) owners.

Hell last weekend I pulled a 2wd ram up and down hills a good 40 feet to the road off a powerline trail in thick, swampy mud in 4-high with stock generals.

He was smart enough to be in Neutral (I had him backwards) and I know how to ******.

yeah, I should have given it a little jerk to get started but I was trying to ease him out.
And then of course when I didn't get him moving my ego kicked in and I gave it the gas which only buried me. Dumb on my part.
Also dumb not having a shovel - there's one mounted in the back now.

The backhoe guy ended up pulling him out after me.

Easy on the lexus owners comments boys . They are not all tools like the one in the story. I love my F150 but I love my lexus too.

He was actually a nice guy, just should have parked on the road and had obviously never been towed before.
His wife was hysterical though, she was out talking to everyone about how she told him to buy the hummer for just this type of occasion (um...ok)
Kept taking pictures of us stuck in the mud and the tractor....thought it was just a fun adventure :-)

30ft with a rope?

Surprisingly, hummers can do a lot more than mall crawl. I can't tell you how many I've seen run the trails even I would hesitate to touch in my 150.

Nylon recovery straps have been known to stretch up to 20%.
