gear install price?

This shop out here in south FL says to expect $250 for an install on my stx. How does this sound, sounds about right to me.

Make sure that they use fully synthetic GL-5 fluid that is approved for "Lube for Life" That is what came in it.

Price sounds right for gear install, but heres my advice,

Make friends with a mechanic at the dealership (Ford or another) and talk him into doing it for a case of beer. I know two guys that work at dealerships in town, and thats all they need. They even get to borrow all the correct tools for compleating the job from the shop!!

ok i love it.... you need to replace the seals for sure, they are only a few bucks(30 or so).... dont let him use the old ones.... and if he is good he will inspect the bearings to see if they are ok....they should be like you said... but ya never know. if you need bearings the complete rear end kits are around $150

$250 is a good price on the lower end of the scale, get a guarantee that they wont whine before you have them do it.
