high pitched noise in cab at 75mph

I have an 06 screw XLT. I noticed a high pitched noise coming from the interior, I believe around the driver side - upper part of the windshield. It first happened when I bought the vehicle and traveled home. I thought that it was just a wind blowing thing. It happened again yesturday, so I know there is somekind of air leak. What does a dealer do to fix something like this? Your comments please. It only happens when traveling around 75mph and higher.

I sent an e-mail like yours and was told that it could be from te hright front fog light if you have one. Test by taping over the space around te hllight, and if it fixes it, use some sort of insulation material to sela it.

OK, so I'm driving down the road today going about 45mph. Now, I here a low pitched noise coming from the top of the windowshield. With that and the fact that its a high pitch noise at top speeds of 75 mph, itsdefinately and air gap of some sort. The low pitch noise when going around 45mph almost sounds like its coming from the upper front part of the roof closest to the windshield. I dono. I'm sure it can be fixed. I'll stop by the stealer tomorrow.

Again, has this ever happened to any of you guys. What do you think ford will do to fix it.

There were a few TSB's on this issue. One for the foglights mentioned ^^^^ and another for the windsheild molding on the top of the windshield. The fix for the windshieldwas to lay a bead of black silicon where the trim meets the windshield. I did this myself and it eliminated the wind noise. If you are careful you will not even see that this has been done. all it does is smooth the edge. I noticed it more on cold days than hot if that is any help.

Well, I have been wanting a hood deflector from FMC for a few weeks now. Went to the dealer the other day and got one. I did the install (simple), and it solved the noise problem.

It you get one and do the install, make sure you do not over tighten the nuts holding the grill guard. word of advise.

I noticed wind noise, not really a whistle, when I got the truck, starts around 45mph, and appears to have gotten worse since the autospring lift on the front. But mine sounds like it is coming from the center bottom of windshield/dash/firewall area. I have already put the bead of caulk across the top and also removed the wiper arms and plastic grate to expose the entire bottom of windshield. Dumped about a tube of caulk across the bottom of windshield. Didn't do a damn thing for it. So now, I need to look at the firewall area. Need to subscribe to Infotraxx again for the 06 model to see if there is some sort of tsb for this but not a whole lot of postings on this on this forum so probably not a common thing.....
