Audiophile System..Is The Sub The Only Difference Between...
No, it isn't. The audiophile system uses premium speakers in addition to the sub. The head unit also gives you the choice of different settings such as jazz club, concert hall things like that. The audiophile is a real step up from the premium system.

I'd hope the audiophile has tweeters, because my Lariat doesn't. It sure had me fooled until I did the LT handles and saw that there was nothing in the tweeter spot, and the door speakers had whizzer cones...but it doesn't sound half bad. Decent highs/mids/imaging. Makes me wonder what a set of Boston Pros 6.5s would sound with a modest sub setup amplified by about 800 RMS total.
Actually I don't believe the stock system has the ambiance feature as well as the setting for configuring the system depending upon the passengers (ie drivers seat, rear, all ). I'm not sure about the speed sensitive volume as that may be included in the standard system.

Yes, the audophile does have tweeters in the doors. The audiophile replaces the 6X8 door speakers with a 4" speaker that is mounted in a filler panel that includes a crossover for the tweeters. I've already replaced the tweeters and the crossovers with JL's which helped out highs greatly. IMO, the subwoofer is worth the extra money for the system as it sounds excellent.
Ford does some interesting things with radio combinations - depending on what's in the parts bin when the truck is being built. Both my brother and I have the Audiophile system in our '05 Lairat SCREW 4x4's.....and yet he has the "Preimum" sound system with the MP3 player and no "Ambience" feature (we compared them side-by-side), both have the 6 CD player (mine does not have the MP3 option), both have the sub, etc. Both had the tweeter set-up (which we replaced with Infinity Kappa's - hugh improvement in sound @ $99.00/pair).
Compared side by side - my "Non Preimum" Audiophile set up sounds better than his Preimum set up....we spent time with the same CD and played with the adjustments, etc. and both agreed - my stock set-up sounded like it had more power and more bass.....
