Dealer blowing Smoke.........

.....up my A**?

I took my truck in yesterday to have them re-hang the driver door as it was off about a 1/4 inch. I also asked them to check the torque converter again as I have had it replaced once and my gas mileage is dipping again and it's hard to tell if it's locking all the time. They ask to keep the truck, they run a fuel test and find I'm getting 13 mpg on the hwy (a 4.6 mind you). They reflash and now he says I'm getting 17.5 mpg? I haven't gotten back yet to see if the truck has changed much but that doesn't sound possible. Or is it?

Is my advisor smoking crack?

Just picked up the truck.....door looks and closes better, so I'm happy with that.

I talked to his boss when I picked it up and he affirmed what the SA told me, that those gains are possible considering my truck had the original flash on it. I can tell you that the truck does feel "lighter" now, the transmissions shifts are much firmer.

I will say now that after a dealer flash I only want an Edge more because I can't imagine what the difference would be with an aggressive tune.

Also, There wasn't a TSB out, there was just a newer flash available.
