I think I found it...

My V8!

I got my EDGE Evolution in today and wow, what a difference. I barely got to custom tune it and I did a quick 0-60 and got a 7.20 on lvl 3. It's not the best in the world but I am hoping it will go down with a little more tinkering.

It's like my truck actually has some power under the hood!!! No throttle lag, no sluggish acceleration; when I push the pedal my truck obeys. I am leaving to go skiing in about an hour so I won't be able to check any replies left here for a few days so be sure and leave me some comments as well as some of your custom tunes you have found to be the most productive.

Like several, you've noted that there's a lot of 'untapped fun' under the hoods of our trucks.

The great news is that you've found some of that power... the better than great news is that just about anyone wishing to install a tune and/or purchase a tuner can reap this benefit as well!

Enjoy!

The four days I spent over the weekend without my Evo were painful, even reinstalling my predator just wasn't the same, then I sold the predator on day 2 and was left with totally stock, I thought it would never end.

I would guess that all this untapped power is at the expense of 91+ octane???

So with all the posts I am seeing now is the Edge the new flavor over a Troyer tune or equivalant? I know it has some pretty cool little features to it but Im curious is to what you are getting the most results from overall now. Edge, Troyer, Diablo etc, etc.
Just looking for some feedback. Later

Nope, not true. The gains using 87octane are very noticable. I notice way more of a difference going from stock to the 87 octane tune (level 2 tune) than I do going from the level 2 to the 91 octane tune (level 3).

As for the Edge compared to the others, I had a Predator before the Edge and really wasn't all that impressed with it. The XCal2 should have better gains though

For me my truck is my baby.

I use the best wax.

I use the best oil.

I use the best brake pads.

Why wouldn't I use the best fuel?

I'm not sure that I follow? Quality fuel and octane rating are not the same. If you are running some kind of "air boost" then using 87 octane is not a good thing because of compression knock.

My truck has the best performance when tuned to use 93 octane. Makes sense to me.

Actually I am running 93 octane but my AVG MPG went up from 13.1 to 17.2 (mix of city and highway driving). So basicaly a 25% increase in MPG and a 10% increase in cost per gallon.
