Brake upgrade questions

Has anybody replaced there stock brakes with upgraded pieces(rotors, calipers)? I am looking to get better stopping power out of this thing. I do tow a 25' foot boat and since adding the 20" wheels it is taxing the stock system quite a bit. I about flipped when I found out the price of rotors from the local parts house's(advanced auto, autozone, oreilly's and napa) sheesh they are proud of the 2wheel rotors for the front. I am looking at around 750 for the performance rotors and ceramic pads from napa for all 4 wheels. Just looking for any feedback from what yall have done or heard.

Thanks
Jack

I priced some Powerslot rotors and the total came to $760 for all 4 rotors and a set of Hawk brake pads....I want some Baer, or SSBC, but I heard good things about the Powerslots.

I had Power Slots and Hawk pads on my Lightning and was pretty pleased and they looked better then the stock rotors as well. I was thinking about brake upgrades today also since I really dont like the feel of the brakes on our trucks. Seems like I have to do the old double pump to get her slowed down if I have a short distance.
I would like to do it right when I look at going with bigger wheels also. Like 4 piston front brakes over our 2. Especially if your towing boats and trailers around thats allot of work on the stock pads and rotors.
If your looking at a resonable upgrade over stock but are on a budget Powerslots or equivalant and some Hawks or equivalant are not a bad choice.
More rotor options on ebay and cheaper then Powerslots though. I know quality is important so read there feedback comments and you can get an idea of the product.
Good Luck.

Check Baer brakes. They have a system for the F150 and have shown real improvements in braking power. The kit comes with rotors, pads, calipers...everything. The disks are 15" if I remember correctly. You have to have at least 20" rims for them.

Yeah I have seen that kit, looks very nice. I will upgrade my brakes before I throw down on new wheels and tires. Just pieces of the upgrade puzzle
