2007 F-150 6 spd auto?

Does anyone know if the 07 F-150 will get the new 6 spd auto that is going in the Expedition?

I find it kind of funny how Ford is behind GM and Chrysler on the HP and TQ numbers, so they are putting 6 spd auto's in all their vehicles to make up for it.

Doubt it.. I have a feeling they will stick with the 4-speed due to towing and hauling...

When I bought this F-150 in december I was driving a 5.3 suburban. I drove the ford for a couple of days (long test drive) before deciding to buy it and one of the things I was disappointed in is the power. The suburban felt faster, so we put them side by side with the little woman in the burb. The burb would jump it off the line and pull away from there on. Don't let the advertising hype fool you, we don't have as much area under the curve as the GM does AND the GM gets better mileage...but I still like the ford.

I think some variant of the 5R-series 5 speed auto will find it's way into the F150.

Yup, more than likely it will be a beefed up 5 speed not a 6 speed.

I had a dog too till I got it reflashed. It will now handle the 5.3's just fine, especially from about 50 MPH on up.

Offhand, I would say that gearing has to be a major factor in this.

Manufacturers can test engines in a lab until they are blue in the face, but until it is mated to a trans and body, there's little to talk about.

Since I doubt the burb weighs less, its got to be gearing...
