Help ? about (CEL) Check Engine Light
Help ? about (CEL) Check Engine Light
My question is this..once you fix what caused the CEL to go on, do you need to reset ( disconnect battery ) to make the light go off, or should it just turn off by itself? What made mine go off was my Volant, the air tube came off the throttle body Again
Thanks
Thanks

At first I had a heck of a time getting that hose that connects the air tube to the throttle body and is held by the 2 clamps to make a tight connection. So when I finally did, so I thought...I get a CEL, I go check under the hood and sure enough the air tube had come off the throttle body. This is the second time

A tuner, a ScanGauge or any diagnostic tool will clear the codes.
A lot of retail autoparts stores will do it for you, either as a courtesy, or for a nominal fee.

Hey TUFF, use your Edge to check the DTC and clear it. I have done it, no problem.
BTW, glad to hear you got your truck working again, my Edge is still a paperweight. I'll be loading my predator back in tomorrow.

I may have to call Volant to see if they have any recommendations on getting these clamps to grip..
