New 06 F150 4.2
I picked this truck up Friday for one of my Crew. Brand new, had like a half mile on it! I've got 3 Superdutys, I have NO F150 experience, or at least none in the last 20 years. I came over from the Darkside, GMs. Anything I need to look out for! What kind of fuel mileage should this truck get? 4.2 Long Bed Reg Cab 2wd.

I had a 1998 f150 4X2 with the 4.2 V6 and it never let me down..I put 160,000 miles on it and traded it in this year. Other than normal maintenance, i dont think I put over $300 in it. This was my work truck and hauled everything from 2200 pounds of crushed stone in the bed to a 5000 thousand pound trailer with no problems. I always got about 18 to 21 MPG when out on the road and I would still be driving it today if not for the Family Plan deal in July. I now have a 2005 F150 XLT 4x2 with the 4.6. Hope this helps..
My previous truck was an 01 F-150 Scab with the 4.2.
Mine had plenty of pick up, seems just as much as my current '04 4.6 (due to the weight difference). And i never had any engine problems with it.
