I think I'm going to transplant my system from my S-10 over: Alpine HU, Boston 6.5 Pro components, JL 300/2, and 500/1. Undecided on the sub(s). I have two JL 10w3s, but I may get the JL Stealthbox.

I have the same problem with my stock Audiophile HU. Drives me nuts. It is in the shop right now. I'll give it one chance to get fixed, then I'm replacing it. Unfortunately it seems like this is a common problem.

What's worse is the stereo places I've spoken with tell me that if I replace the HU, I "should" replace the entire system. Sweet...

Obviously it doesn't compare with a $8k system, but I think it sounds great. I may replace it at some point, but I think Ford did a good job of installing a well balanced and great sounding system.

I must admid that I am impressed with the Audiophile system, it blows away the upgraded factory system I had in my Benz.

I may upgrade add an amp and the sub and door speakers some time in the future but for now I'm very happy with it

Cheers,

Its truly a great factory HU, thats why! I like the stock look of it, the sound and with the PIE connects everything up to it still!

Thanks for the correction about the sub...I've never even dug into it back there. It hits pretty nice for an 8"!!!
