Yes....I did not have any problems loading the software. It fixed the load previous settings and the average mpg (so far).

I ran a 0-60 at 6.8 seconds with the number 3 tune with 93 octane. My previous best was 7.1 seconds.

Edge apparently updated yesterday. Here is what their pdf says:

Evolution Lightning Software:
• v1.02.0114 (03/01/2006)
o Added the Custom Option Editor module which allows simplified adjustment of tuning parameters. User is now able to load, store and edit custom tuning options is a more easily visible format. This module requires a full install of the Lightning software.
o Added additional version check to correctly identify currently programmed level.

Evolution Firmware:
• v14 (03/01/2006)
o Fixed [Display] -> [Setup] menu when changing AMPG or IMPG display selections.
o Fixed problem with Timing Adjust where value was stored incorrectly in EEPROM.
o Fixed data type conversion problem which could cause values to be stored or applied incorrectly.
o Fixed issues where "Reset MPG" would come up when unit was restarted due to the [Enter] key being held down. We now wait for the key to be released before proceeding.

Evolution Calibration:
• v16a (03/01/2006)
o Address P1205 / P1233 DTC on 4.6L vehicles
o Fixed custom option issue on some 2004 trucks where engine idle would be unusually high (about 1600 RPM) after changing "Idle Speed" under the custom options.

How to load new update...

Just hit the update in the lightning software....it will load a new setup for the new lighting software. Run the new setup and it will override your current lightning software. After you install new lightning with setup hit update again to get the new firmware 14 and calibration 16a.

so how do we make changes using the computer now? do we still put the unit back to stock while on the truck? then do the changes on our computers to customize a tune? then what? just plug it back into the truck and it will program it? one more question, if we have a custom tune already in the truck, do we bring inside the edge while still in the custom program mode to save it???? or is it just saved on the computer when starting from scratch? thanks....i just hit the update button on the lightning software while nothing is actually plugged in and it said there was a newer version to update and asked if i wanted to update....so i said yes.....i hate dialup! signed up for dsl earlier today.....will take a few weeks though....

You can make a customized tune on the pc and save it to the edge to load onto your truck or you can still customize it on the edge while plugged into your truck before loading your tune. Edge fixed the problem with load previous settings .
You have to restore your tune to factory or you will not be able to update.

What a steaming pile this update is. As I've said in other threads, my Evo is a paper weight. My $.02 YMMV

For real? I think this is the best update yet. The ampg is decent, not spot on but withing 1 mpg of my lariat info and that has proven to be within a tenth or two. My truck has never run better, in level two it's as close to perfect as I can imagine it being. What is yours doing wrong?

The Lightning software gives an error code each time I try to update. In the truck it lights up, but has a blank screen. I know the procedure for plugging it into the truck, so that isn't it.

Just a thought, but if it's a problem with the Lightning software, it may be worth a try to download the full install of the lightning software right from the edge website. It is a setup file and if you download it to edge folder(C:\Edge Proctucts\Evolution Lightning) on your harddrive and run it from there you don't have to reinstall drivers or anything like that. Just run the setup file and then open the program and try the Check for Updates option. May be worth a try? Hope you get things worked out.

Edit: May want to wait on that ...another thread says the update is unavailable due to issues some people are having with the new vesion.
