Hey Krohbar did you scoop come painted or did you have to get it done. Also did you install it yourself.

Due to recent hail damage. I am having the reflexxion cowl hood installed this week. It is the non cobra version of the one posted earlier.

I have added a few pictures of the hail dammage in my gallery.

I should get my truck back at the end of the week. I will try and get new pics up then.

When I ordered my Roush scoop it was un painted. The body shop I went to charged me 50 bucks to paint it and it turned out sweet. Installation was strait forward they supply a paper template to tape to your hood that marks were to drill the holes for the scoop. Just measure and remeasure before you drill and it will turn out great.

Here is one made by reflexxion, the same company that makes the cobra hood...

Besides the carbon fiber one in the earlier link, these are the only two cowl hoods I have seen for the new body style.

My scoop was unpainted. And, since I've got a painter buddy, it didn't cost me anything to have it done. I did install it myself. Wasn't that hard.

I agree with that there is almost no performance gains. The reason I wouldnt get a fake one is cuz you will get made fun of. I think you can tell if it is fake even if you are a good distance away. Some of them do a good job of hiding it but others are obvious. I know I would make fun of someone with a nonfunctional hood scoop.

Kind of like bolt over billet grills? Look nice/no function! Its all about your taste and liking. I bet you can stuff your wide tires on stock rims too, but why when they can look nice. Simply a matter of taste in all aspects. By the way kickassfx4 your truck looks nice.
