Carriage Works bumper billet install - whew

To make myself feel better about the little break-in episode earlier today, I decided to tackle the install of my CarriageWorks bumper billet grille (boltover). It was only about 10x more difficult than the upper boltover grille. I think the main problem is the lack of room, due to the transmission radiator that comes with the towing package.

This is the space you're afforded to try and wiggle in with a 7/16 wrench to hold the bolt in place while you use an allen wrench from the front to tighten it all up.

This is the view of the space you get when working on the passenger side.

But the finished product looks so much better with the added bumper insert! I am very pleased.

Exactly! I dropped the locknut more than once and of course it never made it all the way through to the ground!

I got my wife to do it...I thought she just had smaller hands than me, but come to think of it they do kind of look like racoon hands.

...and even that isn't a big deal because the honeycomb on the corners aren't actually that tightly attached to the truck itself.

Looks good man.. I installed the lower part of my grill first and I did not think it was that bad.. I did cut my hand b/c I kind of got my hand stuck ...

Anyway.. Quick question.. You said that is a transmission radiator in your pictures? I have that on my truck and I do not have the towing package on my truck. I just had no idea was to what it was.. I thought maybe for the AC but can someone clear this one up for me.

Yeah I'm just guessing that it's a transmission radiator but I also could be completely wrong so if someone knows definitively, speak up!

I thought I was the only one that killed myself putting the bumper grille in. I just switched to a factory FX4 grille, and taking it out was a lot easier for some reason Truck looks good

That was the ONLY way my lower grill was going on. I tried for about two hours, it took her with her small arms and hands about 5.

I have a mystery locknut that I found just lying above my license plate. I still, to this day, don't know where it came from. Maybe I'll dig in a little deeper...

That grill setup looks awesome.
