Just need to vent - freakin' robbery

Well she got broken into today. My wife was at indoor soccer practice with our six-year-old. She came out at noon - NOON! - to find it desecrated. The red circle in this pic highlights where they used whatever they used to pry the window to the point of it breaking. The got away with about a grand worth of stuff - wife's dooney purse and wallet, portable DVD system, $150 in cash. Thanks for the muddy footprints on the fabric too you moron(s)!

You know, crap like this happens - I realize that. But sweet moses I am a p*ssed off individual right now! Because the window frame is bent means that it's no longer just a simple glass replacement. I'll probably have to have a collision place fix it and who knows how long that'll take.

I just got finished vacuuming all the glass out; I am amazed how that glass was everywhere! I mean, even in the ceiling liner!

Alright I feel better now...

Man I hate to hear that...the only good new is I think that the only thing bent is the black panel piece. If so that whole piece is a replacable part from Ford. Just make sure you get one for a 04 (they were shiney and 05s are flat). It shouldnt take a body shop or the dealership more than an hour to change it.

Appreciate the replies guys. Might my Ford dealership be able to do the repairs? I'd totally prefer having them do it.

wouldn't see why not- as long as they have a body/collision dept.

Man that sucks. Had this sort of thing happen to my 03 F150 when I had it. Difference with mine is there wasn't anything to steal that was worth anything.

I would venture to guess they would not have broken into the vehicle had the purse and / or portable dvd player not been in plain sight...

just a thought

I agree; now I realize how casual we've been with where we park and what we leave in 'sight'. NO LONGER!

It's sad that you can't have anything nice without worrying about some a-hole trying to mess it up.....

I was broken into while I was on a cruise to Mexico. It was done to the 02 Supercab in my gallery, the rear door window was busted in and they took my rifle and my DV Cam (it was out of sight so I am wondering if it was someone I knew). I replaced the glass myself for around 100 bucks. Very easy. The cleanup wasn't so easy.
