trans code B
I've got an early build 2004 4.6L w/tow package. The door code for the trans is code B. the owners manual does not list a B and searching, its listed as a 4R75. But all other searches indicate that only the 4R70 came with the 4.6, and the 4R75 with the 5.4. So anybody know what transmission is a code B? Thanks.

The 4.6L has the 4R70E (upgraded for 2004, it has improved shifting controls for better shift quality)
The 5.4L has the 4R75E (upgraded to handle the additional hp & torque output of the 5.4L _ it has a more robust gear set that survives over twice as long in torture testing)

I have a 2004 with the 5.4, I also have the tr code B on the door jam sticker.
I've found no luck "decoding" that, as all anyone ever seems to do if quote info that was put out by ford before our trucks were even made (which never mentions the tr code B anyway).
I myself would like to see some Ford information breaking down the door jam information (like whats in our owners manual) with the B listed.
