Program PATS Key without 2nd Key

I bought a used 2004 F150 and only have one key. Is it possible to program a 2nd key without paying the dealership, or do I need 2 keys to do this.

Thanks

You will need 2 keys in order to program additional keys. You can buy the keys on ebay for a decent price.

you can try to cycle the one key twice but I have yet to see it work. I would have to say dealer. See if the parts dept carries howard keys they are cheaper than fords and many dealers use them for tradein cars etc. to save money themselves.

Yes in that case cycle the original key first then activate the remote start , hit the brake, then cycle the new key.

It can't be done with one key. I lost one of mine and so I bought 2 more on Ebay and took it to the dealer to cut and reprogram all 3 keys. Only cost $35 and worth it because you don't know who has that other key and one day your truck may be gone!
