Originally, this recall applied only to certain 2006 model year F150s built from Job 1 through 13 December 2005 and Mark LTs built at Dearborn from 25 August 2005 through 13 December 2005. Now it's been updated to include all 2005 model year F150s built at Kansas City on 7 April 2005 and all 2005 F150s built at Dearborn on 25 August 2005. Before a panic ensues, this is a relatively small number of affected trucks; only 1200 or so 2005 F150s and fewer Mark LTs than originally anticipated are affected.

To review, this recall is for reprogramming the instrument cluster only. There's a software error in some instrument clusters that may prevent the amber ABS light from coming on should their be a problem with the system. This software error doesn't affect brake operation by no means. Just an FYI, some 2005 owners will be getting letters in the mail soon.

 

Well I was built in Kansas City, but where can I find out what day?

On the bottom right corner of my window sticker it has a long letter and number lable that ends in 03 17 05. Could that be the date Q?

Just had this recall done on my 06, build date 11/05. Was in for it's first oil change last Friday and they did the recall work. 35 minutes for the oil change and the "perform recalibration per recall 06C11." Great service from our local dealer...

 

yeah i just had mine looked over too and as a warning to anybody who lives in the temecula area avoid rancho ford there work is ok but there personnel are completely rude now let me tell you why i am 20 years old and have a sleave done on my right arm (tattoo) i also work with my dad for his company (cement and masonry) so the day i droped it off i was on my way to a job in san diego and was wearing my typical work clothes short sleave shirt and a pair of jeans with some stains from cement. so i go and talk to my service advisor ( total jerk) didnt listen to a thing i said and i thought while i was there id would tell him about some concerns i had about the truck ie pulling to the right, high pitch wind noise from window on freeway, and some chunking out of my tires. the guy ignored everything i said he even had the gull to tell me i burn out in my truck thats why he wouldnt tell the techs to look at it. total jerk. he also told me that the pulling to the left wasnt a warranty issue. now ask me if i was older cleaner cut and looked like i had a rich savings account i would of been treated the same little did this guy know that between my dad and i we have purchased a king ranch f250 fx4, eddie baurer explorer, focus, ranger edge, five hundred, and another f250 supercrew all of them being 05 or 06 models in the past year from ford. i hope this guy realizes he just cost his dealership mine my friend and my families future business. god it feels good to vent. now im going to end on a positive note if you are in the temecula area go to lake ford awesome staff great help and if you looking for a new vehicle ask for tahamy or jeremy and tell them eric sent you trust me you wont be dissapointed. and the reason i didnt go to lake ford for service, they couldnt get me a appointment for a week. i wish i would of just waited so now my novels done if you had the patience to read this thank you if not you just saved yourself about 15 minutes you would never get back.
