06 2WD - 2" rear drop vs 2" front leveling kit?

I am exploring options for a better appearance for my new 06 XLT Scab, I hate the stink bug a$$ up in the air look and would like to make it more level. I don't want to sacrifice towing capacity because I ocassionally tow a 24' fifth wheel. I ordered the truck with the 255/65x17 tires and don't intend to go larger until they wear out, if at all.

Really, you just need to decide on what look you want. If you like the off road look, go with the front lift. If you like the street look, go with the lowering shackles.

With stock tires I don't think the 2" raise will look good. I am hoping someone has done the 2" drop and can tell me if it affects load carrying capacity, I don't want to reduce that significantly.

Lowering or raising aside, that doesn't sound like a good idea with an F150. But it's your truck. I say lower 4x2s, raise 4x4s.

He's right a 24' trailer? Not sure what the trailer is rated for, but it is probably more than the truck is rated for.

The trailer is fine. I tow it all over with my 98 F150 SC 4.6L 4x4 now. Its well within the weight rating fully loaded and wet. My concern is the new truck. One thing is the bed sides are 2" higher so I will have to raise my fifth wheel hitch up and/or lower the pin box to clear the sides better. I just don't want to lower the rear of the truck and be hitting the bumper blocks. I am sure someone has done this 2" lowering here and can comment on it.

i have the 2" shackles on mine... check the gallery for pictures. what you could do if you're worried about it is get some helper airbags... so you get the lowered look, and the towing capacity without dropping the *** end down too far
