I like the sticker, but I would get something that blended in better.

OOOHHH, I like that one........The blue one up top with the lightning streaks in it......As for being in the paint business, I am not. I did all of the prep work on these and took em to the boys at work to get the color put on. The prepping was the biggest part due to starting out with FX4 flares, having to get rid of the texture and prime them well so they would hold the paint took a lot of work. I was lookin at it in a parking lot today, all shiny and clean (I NXT'ed it yesterday), man those flares just make it look so smooth.

LOL! I'll get more pics this weekend after I play some paintball on sunday. I like my 05 bumper!!! I like the light pattern and the looks of the square fogs better than the round ones. Plus, I'm the ONLY one on here with an 05' bumper and the HD valence and I hope to stay that way

Oh and I saw TWO 05' TB FX4's on the way home from work today, one guy had a crew cab with a bug shield and the other was a supercab and looked exactly like mine did stock. I pulled up next to him and he looked over and give me a little wave with a smile and I did the same. Then we were commin up on a light and he jumped over to get beside me and he was lookin at my front hard and heavy. When the light turned green I let him hear the Roush as the rear tires went up in smoke.

I think the sticker gives the truck a nice accent. The painted flares came out great. If you are going to remove the sticker then it probably is best to remove ALL the emblems. But the blue with the lightning on it would blend in with the truck nicely.

$180 for all 4 and that includes wet sanding and buffing in a few weeks. Seems like a lot but oh well...

I do not make the stickers, but they can be found on ebay. Here is some of what they have in orange.

The seller is RS Street Graphics. I'm sure if you contact them they may be able to make you that blue one in orange, but I'm not sure. I didn't see it online.

Matt the flares look great....i am looking to tackle this project on my truck within the next week or so...i know you said it took a lot of work, but can you quantify it...how long did you spend priming and sanding?? Did you use any adhesion promoter before priming or no?? Im just curious becuase i have limited time to work on this and i need to plan out how long it will take...would you be able to do some sort of short write up on your prep work? what sandpaper was used? etc....thanks and really appreciate it!!

I'd say get rid of the stickers because they look cheap and the truck looks very polished now with painted fender flares.

I'd also paint the mirrors to complete the look. You'll be suprised at how much better the truck will look with painted mirrors. It's a night and day difference.

Well, here we go....I went to harbor freight and got an El Cheapo power sander for the main work. I put 200 gritt on it and went over the flares a LOT to get all of the texture off. I did about 2 per night because it is quite tiring. Then I got a can of plastic adhesion promotor and soaked them down good, let it dry for about 30 minutes and put a coat of high build sandable primer. I then let that dry over night and DRY sanded that coat (which was quite rough) with 500 gritt to knock off more texture. Then another coat of high build and let dry overnight. Then a wet sanding with 500 gritt and cleaned them off and they were very smooth after this. Then I give them to the boys to paint.
