i have noise or rattle comming from the drivers side front and rear doors when i go over bumps. it sounds like the door isnt shut all the way, but it is. i have an extended cab 2005 f150 fx4. i dont hear it all the time only over hard bumps. anyone else hear it? i think its comming from the door but i cant pin point it.

My supercab does the same thing, i think mine comes from the latch part at the top where the two doors come together, I have messed with it a lot trying to figure it out and cant seem to find it. Mine seems to do it more when its cold out for some odd reason. Of course when i had the stealership look at it they said they could not duplicate like they say for everything.

Mine does the same thing, but only on certain songs on the stereo.
I have it into the dealer 3 times for them to fix the rattle and everytime they tell me first off they can't hear it and then when I test drive it with them and they acknowledge the rattle they tell me it's fixed when I pick it up.
They actually fixed it the third time but I can still hear it faintly on certain songs. I am going to dynamt all the doors eventually.

mine does the same thing- also, mine happens when cold- i just open both doors, slam em, and the clunk is gone- agree that it sounds like its not latching correctly even though i am sure the doors were properly closed...

Yep, same here.......ONLY when it is about 15 degrees out, as soon as it warms up, it's gone. Sounds exactly like the door is latched in the first position and it jumping around a little. It isn't loud but can be heard.

I had the same thing. When it was warmer out the bottom of the rear door would not latch all of the way. You could not latch it unless you grabbed the bottom amd slamed the sh#* out out of it. You only noticed it if you looked very carefully. Then when it was cold out the seal would shrink or something and it would latch all the way if you grabbed the bottom of the door and slamed it. The dealer adjusted the latch and the noise went away. Next time (warm out) shut your door, then grab the bottom and see if it pulls away from the cab a little.
it turned alot colder here in michigan and i hear that stupid noise from the doors alot louder now...has anyone one took there car in for this noise and got it fixed? is there a TSB out there for this noise?

i have also experienced a "rattle" or metalic tick in the drivers side door. it is located about a foot to the right and a foot down from the lock. it only "rattles" over rough roads, which we have plenty of here in East TN.
i've had it to the dealership, and they say that there is nothing mechanically wrong inside the door. They then sent it to the body shop to look at the inner door skin, but could not pin point anything conclusive.
I was thinking about installing some Dynamat in the doors on both the inside and outside of the inner door skin.
Has anyone tried this?? and were you pleased?

Thank You. 18 degrees this morning and sure enough door jumping around at 20mph over some railroad tracks. Got to work, got out, with front door open grab rear door and she moves. Open rear door and shut with authority. Grab again and she no moves. Good to go now.Originally Posted by Rochester

same here...
after a good rain absolutely quite.
then a day or two later after everything has dried out the rattle is back.
going to try some silicone spray on the gaskets around the door.
now that i think of it, it could be a rubber on metal "rubbing" sound i'm hearing.
