2005 K&N intake FIPK on a 2006?

2005 K&N intake FIPK on a 2006?
I have a K&N FIPK for an 05 that I bought saying it would fit 05-06. My mechanic shop said it wouldnt fit. I was looking through the instructions and it appears to be all the same from 05-06. Any thoughts on this?
