MY06 6 Disc Changer Question

A friend of mine just bought a new 06 FX4 SuperCrew and his 6 disc changer won't play burned CDs. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it just the CD player or is this not right? Would taking it to the dealer to get it replaced/repaired fix it, or are the CD changers just crappy?

I'm not sure if his plays MP3s or not, but it just won't play burned CDs. Are the CDs you play burnt audio CDs, or are the files in MP3 format?

It has something to do with the blank CD brand you use and how fast you burn them. My 05 HATES sony cds for some reason... I found "memorex music cd-r" work fine and I burn at 24x now... Hope this helps...

I have the single disc and it plays burned CD's but it messes up the tracks. It'll be playing the right track but it will stay on track 1 unless I seek it forward.

Might just be a junk radio. Delphi made these radios (up 'till recently I think); a Ford rep told me on a couple problem children, keep on ordering radios until I got one that worked. Mine plays most CD-Rs and RWs just fine, MP3 or regular audio, it doesn't like HP brand CD-Rs though.

That's funny, because we put an HP CD-R that I had in there and it played just fine. We think it might have been the CDs he was using, so we went and bought some new ones.
He burned a CD and tried it and it didn't work, so he just made an MP3 CD and that worked fine. May be his burning program, because both the CD-R and MP3 CDs I had worked in his.
Now he's just going to get the Alpine CDA-9856 like I have after seeing mine.

On a side note, I was very impressed with the Ford Audiophile system with the subwoofer. I wonder if there is any way to get my Alpine HU to work with one of those?
