Question on bed liner

I have a 2005 F150 Supercrew w/6.5' bed. I have a chance to buy a bedliner for $100. What are the drawbacks of a bedliner and how do they install? I have a bed rail. Does it come off easy? Do I take it off, drop in the liner, put bed rail back in place?

Thanks in advance.

Toe

That's basically the gist of it. Then the tie downs go back on over the outside of the bedliner in most cases and keep it tied down. I would just go with a spray-in bedliner though if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time. I love my Line-X. You should check out the bedliner forum for more info also.

I agree on the spray in. I don't have a liner in my F-150 but I have had Line-X in my past two F-250s and loved it.

Is that color matched Line-X? Hard to tell from the picture.

EDIT: Never mind. I saw it in your gallery. That picture makes your truck and Line-X look green. Must be the trees.

Make sure it fits....your profile says supercab but the post says supercrew. I don't think the supercrew came with a 6.5 bed in 05. You probably know all this and I'm just being "one of those guys"

I was thinking the same thing. From what I understand the possible Cab/bed combos are as follows.

Reg. Cab - 6.5' bed
8' bed
SuperCab - 5.5' bed
6.5' bed
SuperCrew - 5.5' bed

I have a line X and I am pretty happy with it. My only qualm about it is that I have a few gashes in it from a flat being dragged out off my bed that incidentally had some nails left on it by some guys I was working with. They cut right to the metal of my bed easier than I expected them to and now I have 2 or 3 ugly gashes that aren't going to be cheap to get fixed. (Basically I believe they didn't put it on as thick as the website and pamphlet claim they do.)

Add the 8' bed for the SuperCab and for '06 the 6.5' bed for the SuperCrew.
Then there's the flare side bed for the 6.5' beds of the Regular cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew.

interesting the nails sliced right through the line-x. some durable stuff there!

For $100, get that bedliner.

I have the Ford bedliner in mine and it's holding up great. The dealer put mine in, so I'm not sure exactly how it installs, but doesn't look that hard.

I do believe that should be covered with the warranty

I looked over my warranty and it seems to only cover natural things like bubbling and peeling, not human caused defects...like gashes caused by nails.
