Airaid Intake - My First Impressions

Well, I just installed my Airaid intake and took it for a spin. I'm surprised how quiet it is under low/normal acceleration. I was expecting more noise and it sounds basically stock. I love the deep roar that now emits from the engine under heavy throttle.

My truck feels more responsive out of the gate, but that could be as much from having reset the computer as it is from the intake. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks to see how things settle in.

Speaking of the computer - For those of you with this intake that experienced CELs...how long did it take for the light to come on? The last car I put an intake on popped a CEL after about two days of driving.

Now I just have to wait for my Gibson exhaust and Troyer tune.....

I don't know of anybody (not saying there is not a few!) that have gotten CEL from an Airaid with the new desinged tube. Most of the CEL problems of recent have been from people using the AF1 intake.
Both my dad and I have the Airaid intake...I love mine and he's so-so with his. I think he was hoping to get a small increase in MPG with his, which he really hasn't. I like the looks and sound...and increase in HP is just a bonus.

I had a CEL with my AF1. It popped up after about a day or two with several WOT pulls. Didn't worry about it for a while and ordered the XCal2 shortly after. No CEL since.
