Question Pace Setter Long Tubes w/ Off Rd y Pipe

Hi I was looking into getting this set up but I wanted to know if I had any chance of passing emissions with this set up? Pace Setter is the first brand I have seen thus far that has made long tubes for 4wds.

The "off Road" Y -pipe means NO CATS. No Caty, no passy
I dont even know why they would make an offroad y pipe for our trucks....

Because I can install it in my driveway and go give Jose $50 to pass my trucks inspection.

I ran my Mac Pro Chamber Mustang around for 2 years before I sold it without any problems from the po po. The sweetest sounds I've ever heard from a stang had a Pro Chamber H pipe.

With the smog test you might could pass. With visiual inspection no.

I have been wanting to get some pacesetter longs tubes for my truck. Although I keep hearing "word of mouth" they are crap, but have yet to see anyone with them actually on. Dynatech makes some for 2wd's but they are 1k....

I haven't heard great thingsabout pacesetter. I have heard there exhausts rust rather quickly.

I dont even know why they would make an offroad y pipe for our trucks....
Because here where i live in Canada i don't have an emissions check Actually most of Canada has no emmisions

You can just do some research on it. I heard from some of my LS1 enthusiast friends, that all brands of headers add within 2-5 Hp of eachother, so they are essintially all the same.

Just find some that fight correctly, make sure they are mandrel bent, then go to a shop and have them delete your 02 sensors from the comp so you dont throw CEL all the time.

And you can do what i plan to do, lower your truck and then dump the exaust under the cab so they will have to work hard to get under there and may just skip the emission check.

Oh and if you get your headers and Y pipe powder coated for another 100 or so it makes it much harder to see whats going on under there for the visual inspection.

When i was considering headers a while back, i found some on ebay for like 375 or so. And please if you are going to put headers on, DO NOT buy short tube, those are just fancy factory ones, Long tube headers are the way to go.

Longtube->X or H pipe-> dual bullet mufflers dumped is the best set up possible IMHO

The dynatec headers come with two high flow cats that is why they are more expensive. Pacesetter has been around for a long time they mainly make 4cyl and 6cyl exhaust. But the old addage is "You get what you pay for" so basically just research both brands and make a educated decision. Also like it was stated before, if you are going with headers make sure they are the long tube and not the shorties. my .02

Yeah, I dunno...I'd rather pay a few more bucks for a good quality shorty than a poor quality longtube, but that's just me...then again, I couldn't justify spending 1500 on longtubes, when I spent 600 for shorties. If you have the money, dynatech it!
