I need to change the transmission oil, my FX4 needs Mercon V. What brand is better to use? I do a search with no results.

Thanks in Advance!

I used Motorcraft brand Mercon V (part # XT-5-QM). Although I suppose any reputable brand that meets Mercon V specs will do.

You could run some Moble 1 synthetic. It's pricey. It will run a little cooler, which is good.

Like what, 2 degrees? Just use what is recommended. I have used Motorcraft cherry juice and motor oil in all of my vehicles for 14 years with not one failure from either.

I've noticed the bigger Wal-Marts seem to carry Motorcraft products.

If that is your concern then you might as well add a beefy tranny FLUID cooler (other than the stock things)

I would stick to what Uncle Henry Ford speceifies. That way your warranty status should be preserved.
