Grinding when shifting 4wd?
Just picked up the 06 scab on monday so today I wanted to see how the 4x4 worked, I have the manual 4x4 lever. While the vehicle was stopped in park, I shifted to 4H, just the normal clunk. Then putthe tranny into N, and shifted to 4L, and again just the normal clunk. However with it still in N, I attempted to shift back to 2H, the xfercase grinded when going from N to 4H. Is this normal with the style xfer case? My last two 4x4's were electronic so I never had this issue and was just wondering if I should be concerned. thanks for any info
Normal
it's new, gears are going to be stiff. I remember when there were no syncros plus you had to hop out and lock the front hubs. Matter of fact, I remember when locking hubs were "new high-tech" stuff! Shows how old I am
Just keep it out of 4wd on pavement.

You can shift on the fly into 4H up to 55 mph. To go into 4L stop, put trans. in N, shift to 4L, put trans. in D and go. To get out of 4L stop, put trans. in N, shift to 4H or 2H, put trans. in D and go.
