Replacing Grill With Billet Type/How Hard To Remove Honeycomb Grill And...
install new grill? I'm not mechanically challenged but sometimes I am hesitant to tackle a job I have never done before. Any hints to removing and installing a new grill? Thanks
I installed the grille that requires you to remove the honeycomb...it looks much better because you can't see the honeycomb grille behind the billet grill. To remove the honeycomb you need a flat head screw driver and a pair of pliers. It's not hard to do, but takes some time. The grille should come with instructions. Don't forget to tape the chrome part to protect it from scratches!!!!
nitzer280/Is Your Honeycomb Grill Black Or Beige & Can You See It?
I have read many posts that unless you have the black honeycomb grill you will see the old grill through the billet grill. Your thoughts?
It's a little early to tell because I've only seen what this grille looks like in the poor lighting of my garage, at night. My honeycomb grille is black and with this picture, you can clearly see the honeycomb.
It's interesting, but I believe only the leading edge of the billet grille is chromed; the rest of it is matte black. So if you get up close and look "down" into the grille, all you see is black and no chrome.
I'm excited to see what it'll look like during the day, in sunlight. Of course, that may not be until June here in Portland.

Well, your opinion is wrong, but that's just my opinion!
For the record, this is the Carriage Works bolt over polished grille. This is how close you have to be before you can see the honeycomb.
Full-size pic can be found here if you want it.

Hey vjhpac,
I have a 2" autosrping and Bushwacker fender flares sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. As soon as they are on (and as soon as the rain stops) I will take plenty of pics and get an official gallery going!
